Emergency Notifications
Keystone College has long-recognized the importance of preparedness and emergency notifications for the community in times of crisis. The ability to communicate quickly and effectively in a crisis provides the best possible opportunity to safeguard the well-being of the Keystone College community. Because effective communication in emergency situations is such a high priority, Keystone College utilizes the Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS), which is available to all students, parents, faculty, and staff.
About WENS
WENS is generally regarded as one of the best mobile notification systems in the nation. In the event of a true campus emergency, a text message will be sent directly to your cell phone notifying you of the nature of the situation and what actions you should take. Clearly, this type of immediate notification and instruction can be extremely valuable in a crisis situation.
WENS is a service purchased by the College and provided free of charge to all members of the Keystone Community. WENS is to be used principally for events that are deemed to be true emergency situations, but will also provide information about inclement weather-related class cancellations or closings.
Signing Up for Alerts
In order to maximize the effectiveness of the WENS system, participation by the entire Keystone community is needed. We urge you to register for the WENS system today. WENS will accept several phone numbers and email addresses, if you would like to include parents, spouse, significant other, etc.
